If you really want to support artists, buy the album (CD, download, Record, whatever) and THEN listen to it on streaming...

But seriously, the best way to support artists is generally to see them live whenever possible and buy merch at the show.

It‘a true. Bands and other music acts make the bulk of their money doing live shows. It’s the record company who takes the lion’s share of CD and streaming income.

I'll let you know in a few days. I have an amiron home already and am getting a dt1990 pro in a few days!
I have both and love each for different reasons. The Amiron Home is "chill" and laid back in it's presentation, while the DT-1990 Pro is more technical and "in your face". They compliment each other well.

Interesting to read the Amiron Home vs 1990 opinions. Especially if you listen to any metal or rock?

I'm finding the bass in the Amiron Home bleeds into the mids the more I listen to them. Also find them a little bit sibilant at times, definitely that 8k region that's an issue if messing with EQs are anything to go by, I want to crank up the volume with the Amiron Homes at times and thats when they can become uncomfortable and sibilant.

Eying up the 1990 Pro from Custom cans with the 8k filter and balanced cable (Snake oil, but the Fiio K7 sounds better and louder on 4.4 balanced that's all), I know the 1990s are a real problem for some people and expect Ill be in the same camp but I do like the Beyer sound, heard a few over the years now - 770, 880pro, 990 edition and while years have passed since I heard them I do remember a similar signature.

I'm then into Beyer T1.3 money, but reading people's feedback those might not be what I want.

I think I prefer my AKG K712's and 702's to the Amiron Home but they lack the overall detail and lower punch of the Amiron Home and have a sound stage that's quite wide, that's not always a good thing. Significantly different in price so not to knock the AKGs at all.

I used to own the Amiron and DT 1990 at the same time back in 2020. I only listen to hard rock and heavy metal music. You can see my comparison here. Having owned both of these headphones, if I had to pick between the two, I would definitely go with the Amiron. The DT 1990 Pro is an excellent headphone it its own right, but that 6-10kHz peak is just too much for extended listening.

Thanks, have to say I've read your post a few times now and is probably the most useful comparison I've read so far.

And its the one that makes me think the 1990 with the passive filter might be 'just right' for me.

I saw the post here earlier in the thread, but has anyone tried the ZMF pads for the DT1990? I can't seem to find information anywhere. Like many others, I use the dekoni velours with mine and it provides better comfort and reduces that treble spike, but I also happen to have a Verite Closed and Atrium and adore ZMF pads.

I was debating going for their pads, but wanted to get some impressions with the DT1990 before I swing $70, also wondering if I go suede or leather 🤔.

Thanks!
