Beyerdynamic Amiron Home (the new T90)

Thank you. Yes, I am really enjoying it.

For years I tried with HD700 and HD6XX and for whatever reasons I couldn't really enjoy them. I eventually sold HD700 and I do like what HD6XX can do but not more than 30 to 40 mins at a time. Tried HD560S and HE4XX and sold them both.

But man oh man this thing is great. I think I finally found what I like in terms of listening pleasure and enjoyment.

ModHouse Argon opened my ears when I realized I have it on my head for over 3 to 4 hours nonstop. And now Amiron Home.

I wish I knew Amiron Home prior to HD560S and HE4XX...

But all good.

Welcome to the Amiron Home club, this is one of my favorite Beyers. I think you would of been happy with the T1.2 and maybe the T1.3 if you went that route as well. I think all three are excellent and you shouldn't feel wanting for the others if you get one of them.

I couldn't listen to the HD 6XX for long either, I like it at first then grew to dislike it the longer I listened. And to be perfectly honest the HD 560 S isn't that good, it felt like the potential it had was held back making it a so so experience.

Thank you thank you.

I was so lost between T1.2 and Amiron Home. Amazon has/had one brand new T1.2 left and this with a very good price (imho...no audio gears are "good price"....but I am already into this). What sold me was here describing Amiron Home produces better bass and more textures in highs and mids and two, I didn't trust me with another expensive purchase $1000 for T1.2. And three T1.1 vs T1.2 adding more complications to me..... But as all said here Amiron Home is a hidden 💎 I think. I know it is too early to say but certainly I am still listening them.

Yes I agree...I fell into my own trap again with HD560S. I need to trust my ears more.

I have been reading a lot about T1.3. I wish there is some kind of sound demo that I can listen.

I have been reading a lot about T1.3. I wish there is some kind of sound demo that I can listen.

The T1.2 has somewhat better imaging, a bit softer sounding, and is more full-bodied in it's sound, and slightly better control; but I find the Amiron Home has better bass extension, better overall clarity and I also find the Amiron Home more engaging. In some ways better and other ways not. Which sounds better though ultimately comes down to the system and personal preference is how close they are in terms of fidelity. In hindsight I think I may like the Amiron Home slightly more than the T1.2, but that's hard to say as I like both a lot. Of the T1's the T1.2 is most similar to the Amiron Home. The T1.1 and the T1.3 are very different headphones. The T1.1 is leaner, more delicate, and brighter and the T1.3 is a warm, dynamic, and meaty sounding headphone.

Sadly I've fallen into those traps as well but honestly learning and learning to truly set aside any bias. I replaced the HD 560 S with the closed-back and relatively obscure A990Z and I'm much much happier with it.

The T1.3 is a headphone that may need some time, it's hard to say who will like it or not. Personally I love it.

Very nice. Great analysis that I can easily follow!

I am in the process of downsizing my stuff and once I am down to "essentials" I may go for T1.3. I have an issue of being attached to my stuff and they got to go....even if I think the price is not right for me.

It seems that most of the owners here headfi likes T1.3 and most of youtubers don't. I cannot really tell whether it is because of a significant departure from its "original" sound signature (different) or what. But i think your sound descriptions of T1.3 actually inline with Steve Guttenberg's review.

Have you ever heard the DT 1990 ? It is an awesome headphone that just attacks the music. I was an Amiron owner for a couple years (as people here know), and I gave that headphone a great deal of praise. I still think the Amiron is an excellent piece of audio gear. In my opinion, the DT 1990 just offers a more engaging and dynamic listen.

No I have not. I think I only heard it (if my memory is right) through Z review's sound demo..haha.....and Yes...I forgot to mention about DT1990 in my first post here that it was also one of my considerations for my very first Beyer.

I went with Amiron Home since many says there is a bit more energy in vocal than DT1990 and last night I really enjoyed it. Not overpowering like 6XX but just enough for my ears to enjoy them for hours. Also a bit boosted? or more bass than DT1990 (extended but flat) based on the fact that I really enjoying T50MKiii Argon.

Of course these are all from reading and yourube. I don't know the measurements and stuff but thought Amiron Home checks off most of what I would like to try.

I will be in another rabbit hole to figure out between DT1990 and T1.3 if I want to have another Beyer.

The Amiron Home is still a damn fine headphone. It's like a headphone made for cinema or something, it has that cinematic sound.
The soundstage is very good too. I could hear the gunshots from the enemy player in GTAO and I kept driving in that vicinity and indeed! That mofo was hiding there on the roof! lol. I capped bullets in the player enemy and we won. I must agree, despites the detailed bass and warmer sounding, details are not lost like in bassy headphones. I'm very impressed.

Last night another about 3 hours of enjoyment out of Amiron Home with a different amp. Not trashing 6XX but I couldn't imagine myself doing so with that headphone.
Yes, details in bass and energy are great. Different than Argon but in good ways. I am going to listen 6XX today to decide whether it is finally the time to say goodbye to it. I always thought there was something that I am missing or not doing it right on my parts but I now think 6XX might not be for me after all. There is no reason to keep it if that is the case and my daily would be Amiron Home.
Some says Beyer headphones need a long break-in periods and if that is the case, oh what easter eggs this thing will bring to me 😄

Hmm, long break-in. I can't remember and didn't think about that at all. Right out of the box I immediately love the Amiron Home, no need to break-in at all. But it depends on which beyer it is of course, for example, my T5p.2 needed a break-in. But Beyerdynamic surely knows how to make such great headphones.

Good evening all (well Good morning as well?). I have been enjoying my Amiron Home with tube amp and now I am in this dilemma for SS amp.

I had A90 and didn't like it much with Amrion Home so I recently sold it. It was good with Argon but never felt that I am enjoying the music (not musical?) And here comes V280. I love this amp but I feel like something is missing whenever I switch from tube to V280 with Amiron Home...or maybe it just calms it down a little too much? Comparing tube amps...

So want to ask if you don't mind, which SS amp do you use with it, if you do?

Don't want to go crazy but if V280 is not the amp matches well with it, I may sell it to get a different SS amp.

Any advise or your inputs will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Well it's not totally solid state but I really like the Amiron on the Schiit Lyr. My one and only complaint with the Amiron is the bass (especially mid-bass) could get a little loose and flabby when I used it with the OTL Tube Valhalla at louder listening levels. The Lyr really tightened up the bass at louder listening levels while retaining some of the tube smoothness and more 3-D soundstage. It's a very good match with the Amiron imho. I find the Amiron somewhat harder to drive than the HD6XX and about on par with the HD600 in that regard. The extra power of the Lyr really pairs well with it.

Honestly I found with the right tube (which was the stock russian tube the Lyr 3 used to come with, newer Lyr 3's come with a different tube), the Amiron Home sounded really good on the Lyr 3. In fact it was my favorite headphone on that amp. Not sure how the Lyr 2 and Lyr 1 pairs with the Amiron Home though.

Thank you for your input.

I am looking into Singxer SA-1? Amp as it is highly praised for what it is....it is just not cool that I cannot audition anywhere where I live. Only thing I can do is order and return but I don't do that unless it is DOA or broken.

Burson amp appears a really good amp except for the screen...I am not a fan of screen haha.
