Beyerdynamic Amiron Home (the new T90)

Hopefully these will suck because I am breaking in the DT1990 right now and have a Liquid Carbon on the way. As you can easily imagine, as much as I am liking the DT1990 I am really cursing beyer for not putting dual entry miniXLR on these things so I can run balanced all the way. So I am hoping everyone decides these are not quite as nice the DT1990. Very mean, I know... I can't help it :)

What a daft name, first the Beyer Byron and now this. what's wrong with the Germanically logical numbers and letters as they've used for the past 80years

Their marketing department is probably now staffed with young-uns who believe headphones should "tell stories" and therefore need names

Or something like that.

At least they could have given them more inspirational names, like "Elear" or "Nighthawk". Amiron means what exactly? To me it conjures up... nothing. At least "Byron" makes me think of a poet. Perhaps Beyer should go all out on poets and authors. The Beyer Poe, Beyer Shelly etc.

I agree that it is a dreadful name but why would a "young-un" have named these headphones LOL, if anything I'd imagine some really old pseudo-intellectual would be required to come up with a name like "Amiron Home".

I liked their older product names, I don't see any reason why these should be called what they are rather than T9 or something, how are you supposed to even refer to these? AH? Amiron? Home? Most awkward product name ever.

Seriously guys? Who cares what its called. Its name has no effect whatsoever on how it sounds.

It's important to someone like me who has used Beyers for years and love their no nonsense sound first approach.

They did things differently making quality headphones in Germany but selling them at a very fair price and not changing their designs for decades because they didn't need to. strictly no marketing at all.

Please Beyer see sense and rename as T91. Thanks

It's not a big deal to me, I don't particularly care what it's called, if they sound good I will buy them regardless. Doesn't mean it shouldn't be brought up, it's not an orthodox product name by any means and it sounds silly which may potentially annoy a lot of people when they're talking about the model, it's a mouthful, no one's going to enjoy having to spit out "Amiron Home" every time they wanna discuss it here on head-fi for example.

It's like BMW coming out with a new 2017 version of their i8 and calling it Concept Vision Efficient Dynamics again (as it was in prototype phase). Actually, it's worse, because that actually stands for something and makes sense, Amiron Home would be like calling the new i8 Mecasermin Road or something instead. Maybe they'll explain the name further down the line when production approaches, but as it stands it's practically nonsensical asides "home" standing for home use.

"Lord Byron" is the coolest pen name ever.

Byron is cool.  Byron for BT earphones...not so much.   Maybe if the T2 was called Byron I'd understand.

Amiron...what does it even mean?  Is it the medicine, metal or the headphones :P

How about Beyer Ambiance.  Gives more of that home feeling than calling it Amiron Home.   Or if we're doing poet names....

Beyer Hesse
Beyer Frost
Beyer Coleridge
Beyer Neruda
Beyer Whitman

the list of awesome possibilities goes on.
