Wondering if there were better headphones around the $200 CAD range.

I wouldn't say "better", but you can score a HD558 for arround 150$ if you search for it. Really good open headphone.

You might be able to find some used Audio Technica ATH-A900X closed headphones.

You can get HD 598's sold by Amazon for 187 USD right now I don't know what that is in CAD though.
