I'd like to take a look at the innards of the Master as well as swap that red LED with a blue one. Problem is that I can't seem to get the top plugs out to get to the screws; I've tried using my finger nails, but no luck there. I'd like to try something else, but I'm worried about scratching the finish.

A reference photo can be found here:

Any ideas?

Thanks

from memory

you don't actually need to take those off

start by removing the rubber feet at the bottom

underneath them are screws, loosen them and it should all come apart

oh and remove the volume knob by pulling it out firmly

once you've done the above, i believe it's only friction from the acrylic panels holding it together

edit: oh and there's a screw at the back holding the RCAs in place, undo that too
