What are the best cans for under $50?
Hopefully either closed full size, or IEM?

The XB300 were ok at best, but for the $30 I found them, they're acceptable. DT220s usually come up for under $50.

Oh, and what did you do with your broken ER6s? I'll take them off your hands if you haven't thrown them out!

JVC HA-RX700 are a contender for full-size under $50.
PL30 for IEM IMO (though many disagree).

It seems this question comes up every week around here.
Depending on what you listen to adding an extra 10 buck or so could be a very good choice to get a some grados or if you were to spend a bit more you cna get some very nice headphones for around 100$.
Cheaper headphone like the porta pro or the px 100 are nice, but they dont really benefit from amping, and are very limited sound wise, even if you get a great source and a nice amp the sound on them wont really improve.

RE2's are fantastic, especially for their current price. I'd gladly pay double their price for what you get out of them. The lower end Senns are terrible, stay away.

The JVC HA-RX700 model goes for $35-$45.
