I know there are a lot of solutions but i wanted to share my experience and what i currently find best solution for your money , please post your recommendation

For under 1000 i could not find anything that performed better than

Pro-Ject Stream Box S2 Ultra ( around 600 $ if you shop around and check on ebay and such) and for power
Project has released Battery based poser supply.
Pro-Ject Accu Box S2 Battery Power Supply 250$. For around 850 $ you get awesome streamer that is battery powered.

So far i have compared this solution to Innuos ( Zen MK3, MiniDSP SHD with DIRAC room correction and few Resbery Pi based solutions).

BTW i have no affiliation with any manufacturers and wanted to only share my experience during my 6 month trial to find best $ to SQ ratio in feeding my CHORD DAVE with HI RES audio and streaming services TIDAL / ROON Endpoint \ Qobuz and others ( i dont really use Bluetooth or airplay)

Which Raspi solutions did you compare?

As a pure streamer without DAC,
have you tried the Allo DigiOne Signature
https://allo.com/sparky/digione-signature.html
with the Shanti PSU https://allo.com/sparky/shanti.html
?
I find this quite impressive for the price, it is able to keep up or beat commercial ready to use streamer double the price. But havn't heard the mentioned Pro-Ject Stream Box Ultra.

+1 for the Node 2i. Bluesound is far from perfect but they got an awful lot right with this one.

I’m using the new ALLO usbridge signature as a Roon endpoint and am very happy. I haven’t compared it to others per se, but very happy with the SQ and ease of use. It is feeding a W4S Dac 2v2 > Classe CA2200 power amp > Snell Type D speakers. I’m thinking of getting a second one for my desktop system.

I was quite tempted by Nord streamer and dac range, see https://www.nordacoustics.co.uk/easy-stream. They combine DLNA endpoint with Khadas Tone Board in one small package. Or standalone streamer with SPDIF out. Unfortunately not compatible with ROON at the moment.

I've been paying close attention to Nord, and came very close to buying one of their amps.

For Roon streaming, I don't see much justification for anything more than what will provide a high quality data stream. Bells, whistles and fancy cases seem highly unnecessary. And the Allo products fill that niche perfectly IMO. Since I hooked up my USBridge sig., I haven't had to touch it. It just sits behind my DAC doing it's job flawlessly as a Roon endpoint when called upon.
