Was thinking about getting an Echo Indigo, but supposedly they won't fit the Express slot.... what should I do?

MBP has an optical out : use it with an amp/DAC like the Ibasso D1 or other ...

x3 on using the optical out, to feed an external DAC.

The Optical definitely, it supports very high bit depth and i believe up to 192 kHz. I would heartily recommend any dac from Headroom. If you're not looking to dump a bunch of money into it the new micro's are excellent they may be more expensive than some but consider it money saved from not having to buy an additional card for your express card slot.

I am currently using this combo. MBP > optical > headroom DAC.

I am extremely happy with the sound coming out of this.

Hey guys just a quick question. Apparently the macbook is actually a great source as it can play music up to 192 hz. I was wondering how the macbook compared to an imod as a source. Which one sounds "better"?
