Best Sound Stage for under $100

Used pair of K501. Yeah, I said it. I know we don't discuss prices, but early this year someone let a pair go for $80! Yowza! You might see something like this again when the K701/K601 start selling!

Good suggestion, soundstage isn't very large, but it's very good nonetheless, great sound placement. Definitely the best I've heard under 100.

Philips SBC HP890 (under $100 at my place, about $45 to be exact)

X2. The soundstage on these is even larger than my Senn 595s. At $45, these are terrific cans. I paid quite a bit more for mine.

These sony cd1700's I got for under 100 used have the largest soundstage of anything I've listened to under that price (the usual suspects).

Yep, I concur about these. They don't come up too often in the used market any longer, but they're super comfortable, sound nice, big soundstage, and affordable.

Seconded. It has good soundstaging. Amp it, and you'd probably get an even more realistic, wider soundstage.

PX100 does have a soundstage, but not one like the HD555. All in all, it depends on your recording. Having said that, the same recording will inevitably sound different and will appear to have a slightly different sound stage from different headphones.

I'm going to put on my flame suit, but I think the Bose Triports have a very wide soundstage, much wider than that of the HD555!!!
