Hello i got a headphones with very large soundstage, but im puzzled how to connect them to my ps3. i have the AV cables sound set up with a E6 fio amp, but will that give me position location in my games and in movies?   also i heard there is a USB connector for audio and mic. Im not sure which one to use to provide with the best audio surround. Im not planing on buying a MIxamp or another sound processing device.

The PS3 on it's own, can not output headphone surround sound, you need an add-on device, like the Astro mix-amp or TBS DSS.
Maybe some USB headsets(?), which come with a headphone surround sound processor.
Otherwise, for headphones, all you will get out of the PS3 is 2-channel audio.

Thanks for reply. But can I use enemy position without a surround sound processor?. My headphones have good sound stage

I would assume a FPS game outputs 6 or 8-channels of audio, which a surround sound processor would change into 2-channel headphone surround sound, which is then goes to a headphone.
But as you will only be getting 2-channel of the 6 or 8-channel audio feed, I would assume you would not get accurate enemy positions.
