I'm not a big B.B. King guy, but he had his moments.

But Albert King.

Talk about influential, he really could bend them.

And no love for Robert Cray? And Eric Johnson x2. Sound quality on his albums are iffy, he was terrific on the Crossroads Guitar Festival DVD as was Cray. And no love for country pickers? Chet Atkins, Vince Gill et al though in a different style ain't bad.

BTW, I saw Segovia live in 1963 (9th grade for me, I think). Didn't even know what I was seeing and hearing. But I knew it was special. Later I learned just how special.

I just kept dropping and loosing picks, so I gravitated toward Chet Atkins and Andres Segovia.

....ok; I use a thumb pick. They hang on pretty good.

Now if I could just find my nail files.

It would also seem that it is mandatory to have 1 or 2 amazing guitarists in a power metal, symphonic metal, or a progressive metal band these days. I have several hundred CDs of those genres of music that contain droves of spectacular axemen, but I don't have the time or energy to list all of their names here.

Speaking of Paul Gilbert.

I have his new CD (highly recommended). And I couldn't for the life of me figure out how he was performing the opening to the song "Get Out Of My Yard". Well, now I have the answer! Apparently he uses a moving "human capo" to achieve that sound.

Check it out!

Too cool.

Nice!
