[Vivo Xplay6 Tutorial]
I would like to write on how to set Neutron music player to support with vivo's Hi-Fi (which is bit perfect of course.) Since normally, neutron supports only DSD mode where it bypasses all ALSA to result in disabling resampling which has a little drawback that the volume step will be only 15 instead of 30 steps and despite the fact that playing WAV/FLAC/MP3 in DSD mode does sound great, it sacrifice a lot of battery.
Therefore this tutorial will help vivo xplay6 user to easily choose between Hi-Fi mode and DSD mode styles very swiftly.
1. Install additional Neutron "Eval" Version along with the purchased version. The Eval Version will use as "dummy" app.
2. Go to phone setting and set Hi-Fi toggle for Neutron "Eval"
3. Then go to Neutron "Purchased" Version go set in audio hardware > Generic Driver > Format. Set like this.
4. Boom, now playing everything is Hi-Fi with bit perfect.
Addition Note:
1. But there is an additional step when you use Neutron is that you cannot play music by just clicking "play" on neutron "widget". You need to go open the app first, then click play inside the app. Because when clicking play on widget will activate Hi-Fi but the frequency output is 48kHz (Android limitation).
2. But with Hi-Fi setting, you cannot play DSD file. So when you want to play DSD album, you need to un-select "Custom format" and let Hi-Res Codec running to use in DSD mode. This is where you can swap between Hi-Fi and DSD mode very easily.
If my procedure is hard to understand, feel free to ask in detail. don't hesitate.
For UAPP, it enables DSD mode in vivo xplay6 only (cannot toggle into Hi-Fi mode)
