Hi guys, recently i got what i would consider a audiophile-quality IEM the Westones 3. And I'm not going to lie, they BLEW ME AWAY! I love them. They sound great ! I would never go back to the nonsense type of IEMs. Enough on my baby steps into this very accepting community.

1) I am trying to appeal to you guy's help for an AMP DAC combo that goes well with my W3 without costing a bomb. I already spent abit on my W3s.
2) is a DAC that important? Or just an AMP would be enough?

Thanks alot in advance people :)

Your W3's have a 30ohm resistance. This is low enough that they can probably be driven efficiently by most audio sources.

What are you using for a source now?

Any time you listen to digitally encoded music, you are using a DAC of one sort or another since the headphone jack used to drive your W3s is analog. You can interpose a DAC between the source and the W3s only if the source has digital output of some sort. Amplification is done after the conversion to analog, but is most often used to drive IEMs or headphones with 100+ohm resistance.

Are you looking for something portable, desktop, or larger?

Recommendations are much more likely if you can be a bit more specific.

Cheers... Brian
