I haven't checked on prices for awhile, but isn't Sennheiser still enforcing a minimum price on the HD-800?

If that is still the case, then pick up a pair from one of Head-Fi's sponsors. If I recall, I got free shipping and paid no sales tax when I ordered my paid from HeadRoom.

Im not sure about the price in the US but they are currently selling the HD 800 below the MSRP in thailand. I got mine from a headphone store in thailand for about 1295$ or 42000 baht (tax included) about a week ago. The list says that they are selling for 49000 baht but if you talk to them directly they will sell it to you for 42000 baht.
