I'm looking to get new headphones and want to audition several before I purchase (purchased a set of Grados last year without auditioning them and now wish I had).

Can folks recommend a retail shop, either in NYC or WashDC metro areas that carry a good selection of hi-end cans? I really don't want to do mail order again....

Thanks

Some of the guitar centers allow auditioning, not all though. I have no where in the Atlanta GA area.

In new york there are a few. There was a thread not too long ago concerning high end audio shops in new york. I bought my Beyer T5p from proaudiostar (off their website) but they do have a physical store. Try searching "audio shops in (area)" in google. Nowadays, most shops will have a site, even if they don't have a catalogue, they'll usually have a list of brands they carry.
