Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter

I can't belive no ones suggested this yet, its got to be one of the most recognisable guitar intros ever.

Off the top of my head...

Dire Straits: Money for Nothing, Your Latest Trick

Elton John: Funeral for a Friend

Billy Joel: Angry Young Man/ with a mention for Matter of Trust ( I just like the way he kicks that one off!)

The Eagles - Hotel California (the acoustic version)
Rage Against The Machine - Take the power back
Danko Jones - Lovercall
and of course... U2 - Where the streets have no name

I actually despite that opening. It is jarring, uncomfortable and, IMO, a terrible beginning for a great song.

You feel uncomfortable ? That was the whole idea: the real thing (time running) makes you feel that way...

Well, I guess it is effective but that does not make it good.

The Tea Party - Haze on the Hills into The Majestic Song. last 2 tracks on splendor solis. haze on the hills is a 3 minute guitar instrumental. at around 2 minutes, jeff martin starts changing into the majestic song. but he does it slowly, keeping part of haze on the hills while adding the majestic song's guitar line.
really very neat. it was a raise the hair on the back of your neck experience when i got my sr-80's. the 2 guitars in haze on the hills are seperated into left and right.
i highly recommend you check these 2 songs out.
