Haven't listened myself, but some folks seem to like the open-back AudioTechnica R70x. It has a somewhat strange headband design though, that some don't particularly like. There may be a few planar magnetics that would get you close as well. I know less about those though, so not sure which models to suggest.

I'm not familiar with the Beyer T70 btw, so can't really comment on that.

For vocals under that price range, Massdrop Koss ESP-95X. Very good vocals like HD650, but there is a mid honkiness around 1k or so if the track honks.

As a Quad Era-1 owner, i'd point you to the Verum 1 for this purpose.

Will order it next month to have a serious listening.

If you can find a used Hifiman HE-500, that's what I'd recommend.

Grado GH4, superb for vocals, extremely open and dynamic sound, never sibilant.

HIFIMAN SUNDARA may be the best choice under $500. HIFIMAN always excels in vocal part.

Sundara is pretty great for vocals. Also the Audeze EL8 open is good for vocals.
