Headphoneus Supremus
Surprised nobody has mentioned these. Both the Onix XM5 and Shanling M5 Ultra were designed for sound quality first and foremost. Both are new to the market.

They both have over a full watt of power from balanced, but I can't confirm that they will drive it to full potential. Can those two Daps run 300ohm
Headphones like the HD6x0 series?
I went to the official website but there is no asking price or option to buy it, just a bunch of info and snake oil claims. Could you tell me where I could buy & see the retail price for one of these players? The Dethonray Prelude series of daps are among the very best, non Android solutions available and incredible value for their asking prices.
The latest and final Prelude, the DTR1+ Limited Edition, has perhaps the most luxurious built quality for a dap of its footprint. Stainless steel, buttons are firm to the press, the 3.5mm headphone jack has a grip that handles cable inputs confidently.
The sound, rich and balanced, with a very tinge of warmth. A very present and authoritative low end that doesn’t sound boosted, a midrange that makes vocals sounding very welcoming and instruments come alive. Its highs soar without becoming unbearable. It all comes together like a good desktop setup.

Can the M1P power 300ohm headphones?Aune M1P the best for me. No streaming... pure music.
Are you serious?? I mean have you ever saw this in real? Or experienced how it sounds??never mind I found the price tag on Amazon and $1000 for a “cheap made in china Gameboy knockoff” looking box of a player seems crazy even the $60 chi-fi players on there look and seem to have a better build, it also seems it can’t display album art which for $1000 is unacceptable. I’ll just check out that Aune player I was recommended awhile back it can’t display album art but it’s cheaper and looks to have a way better build.
I also have the same silver one. Wanted the rainbow one but sadly it wasn't there. It's probably the best ever 3.5mm output implementation out there taking QP2R in mind. Overall sound also improved than regular DTR1+. Have both and tested. Good to see you also own it. It can eat M1p any time anywhere because I also got M1p and love it for what iot does at that price point. The Dethonray Prelude series of daps are among the very best, non Android solutions available and incredible value for their asking prices.

You can try the sony PHA-1 and the Oppo HA-2. The oppo can also charge devices plus it is MFI compatible with older ipods. I saw this guy testing themI need some recommendations,
I currently have a iPod touch 7th generation with my iTunes library (very lo-fi I know) and I need a good portable device that has enough power built in to drive my 300ohm Sennheisers, a good dac like those old top of the line cd players at a reasonable price since I don’t have a trust fund.
The new Shanling M1 Plus has excellent sound, small footprint, fast response and decent UI. You can find for under £200, with case.I went to the official website but there is no asking price or option to buy it, just a bunch of info and snake oil claims. Thanks for the recommendation though.
