Best Metal Albums of 2009?

Endgame is definetly one of the best albums. Immortal - All Shall Fall, despite my slight dissapointment, is still very solid album. I cant think of any other good albums that were released this year, at this moment anyway...

Have you heard the sample songs in their myspace site? IMHO they are far from promising...

I really liked Five Finger Death Punch's new album War is the Answer. If you can get over their ridiculous name you might like them. Most metal bands scream throughout the whole song which bugs me, FFDP mixes it up by switching between singing and screaming. If anyone knows of other metal bands that do this please let me know.

In my opinion, the best metal album released in 2009 was Nile-To Whom Gods Detest, especially for it's production. Insanely good sounding album.

Other mentions:
Megadeth - Endgame
Be'Lakor - Stones Reach
Amorphis - Skyforger
Converge - Axe To Fall

Vektor - Black Future
Shadow Gallery - Digital Ghosts

First is awesome modern thrash (best I've ever heard), with stunning vocals. Second is a prog release, which reminds me of a blend between Dream Theater and (good) Queensryche, very easy to get into and enjoy.

Seconded, one of the best neo-thrash I've heard last year. There's very nice Voivod vibe (their logo is also a homage of sorts, IMO), with progressive stylings that don't go overboard. My favorite tracks are "Destroying the Cosmos" and the EPIC "Accelerating Universe"!
