I'm just listening to Amorphis - Skyforger and it's a pretty refreshing listen! I'm really impressed. I haven't been paying much attention to releases these past couple of years, so any suggestions of your favorites would be appreciated whether it be doom, black, death, thrash etc. As long as its not really folkish like Tyr or Korplikaani, I can't seem to get into that kind of stuff.

Devin Townsend - Ki (my fave thus far)

I've bought the new Mastodon, Porcupine Tree, Megadeth, Dream Theater and a few others but they've yet to grab me.

I'm quite sure Devin's next album (due in Nov) will be the best album of the last five years... maybe the decade.

My Dying Bride - For Lies I Sire
Weapon - Drakonian Paradigm
Tribulation - The Horror
Exivious - Exivious
Ulcerate - Everything Is Fire

The Chasm - Farseeing The Paranormal Abysm
Altar of Plagues - White Tomb
Immortal - All Shall Fall

Wrath - Lamb Of God
Deflotrate - The Black Dahlia Murder
Self Titled - Killswitch Engage
Dethalbum II - Dethklok

Only 'metal' albums I have from '09 and they aren't bad at all.

(Although KSE needs to grow a bit more TBH).

Lamb of God - Wrath was good, but only few truely killer tracks to me. I´ll probably need to say Megadeth - Endgame so far. It has actually no bad tracks, to me it´s their best since Rust In Peace.

Thy Catafalque - Róka Hasa Rádió

Haven't properly listened to Megadeth yet, but this is the only metal album that's managed to hold my attention at all this year.
