The Sugden Headmaster is the best-looking hp amp I've ever seen. It's a beaut!

but to me, the Orpheus looks like a head-on collision between a couple toasters and the lighting section of Home Depot.

As for the ugliest amp, the MicroZotl looks like one of those shoebox "scenery" things we had to make in grade school

But it's missing all of the ceiling fans. Otherwise, I totally concur!

I love how MD is so polite generally, yet brutally honest when called for.

btw, the Zotl looks like someone's toaster oven after a bad tube rolling experience to me. If it sounds good enough I'd still buy it though!

I liked that Moth thingy. It was very low key and stylish. Personally though, I have to put in another vote for the X-cans. The thing does look like some nefarious weapon or something. Whenever anyone comes into my room, they are always like "What the hell is that?" I explain that it is a headphone amp and they are like: "What the hell is that?" Then I just patiently sigh and have them listen to it. They are usually pretty impressed, as they have likely been suckled on cobys and stock earbuds.

Does it look the same as the X-CanV2? Just looked at that and I was like 'no big deal'

I assume it is the same. I mean it is not going to make you gasp or anything, but it is a pretty unusual thing for people to see sitting on your desk. I find the tubular shape and machined aluminum to look pretty nifty. Especially with its HAL red diode staring at you all day.

Wow, that really is.....something.

My nomination goes to the 2001 model Max. I see mine every day, and still dig its appearance and build quality -- it really is an amp that has to be seen in person to appreciate.

My other favorites include the Cary CAD-300SEI. Simple. Elegant.

Creek OBH-11. Very very simple. Very compact. I like that about it.

EAR HP-4. That highly polished face plate is something. Build quality seems very excellent.

That mysterious Zeus looks very cool in pictures. I imagine it looks even better in person.
