I agree the Zeus looks very cool. How is it that no one here, in the Olympus of headphone knowledge has ever heard one?
And no one has heard the Moth either??? I'm shocked! <g>

You know, i was just trying to remember if Moth had a headphone amp. If I ever win the lottery, I promise to buy one of each and check them out.

Someone want to post a link?

KR,

This does indeed look like an extremely interesting amp with astonishing build quality. I read the Stereophile review link from a couple years ago where they thought it was a GREAT amp at $3495.00. These days its a mere $1995.00 for the wealthy amongst us, and at that price you dont even get TUBES???
Still..........the disappointing part was that the designer intended it for speakers and merely threw in the headphone jack as an afterthought. How good COULD this thing have been?
Sam Tellig originally raved about it after hearing it with some HD600's at the CES show in 98, and being astounded, but then what do they know about headphones at Stereophile anyway?
Geez, I wish someone here had listened to this though. I'm really intrigued.

The headphone jack on the Berning MicroZOTL came about the same way...and it works spectacularly well.

The Zues has been reviewd on this site before, as I recall it met with mixed feelings and was returned. The reveiw I read on the Moth said it had some noise issues. It was compared to the RKV, E.A.R., MAX, and I think the Grado. The Moth, Twinhead MKII, and having Mikhail build me a custom Supra were the three choices I came down to for my latest amp I'm getting. I am going with the Singlepower S.D.S. (custom supra) Should be here in 5-6 weeks.

I think the Sophia Electric "Baby" amp is very cute-looking. See attachment.

Nightfall, the price on the Moth is little deceiving, the output tubes come seperate. They have some low end tubes that are good with it or the ones that really make the amp sound it's best. They are like 4-5 hundred for the set. Either way the tubes don't come with it. The amp is beautiful and big, 40 plus lbs.
