What sound signature are you going for? what other phones do you have?
 
Might be better to stick to the <$50 level and then make a large jump. There seems to be absolutely oodles of value phones in that price range, from the vsonics to the various jvc and philips offerings.

You should also think about the vmoda gr06 and gy07 as well.

Shure SE215, punchy dynamic bass, quite good seperation, but not very airy at the top. Very good build quality too.

The JVC FXT90, Yamaha EPH100, Etymotic HF5, Klipsch Image X5 are great buy for around $100 and they sound much higher than the price.

Everywhere I see the EPH-100, it's around $150.00.

Depending on whether or not you're willing to wade into the used market -- the Klipsch X10 can be had for about $100 on the forums here, and are another option.

Etymotic HF5 is a great deal, as is is the GR06 at their price points.
