I have used a pair of Sony MDR-V200's for the past seven years or so, and now they're falling apart. I'd like something better than the MDR-V150, as the pads get uncomfortable after extended use.

I use headphones mainly for music/video on computers and mp3 players.
What headphones are the best overall out of these?
(I'm not looking for ear-bud phones)

Sennheiser Open-Aire Supra-Aural Hi-Fi Stereo Headphones HD457

Koss Lightweight Closed-Type Collapsible Headphones UR19

Sennheiser Collapsible Open Supra-Aural Mini Headphones PX100

I'm also considering the Sony Home Style Headphones MDRXD300 but they look sort of bulky and weird.

If you don't need sound isolation, I'd recommend the koss ksc-75 or 35, or perhaps the sennheiser px100, but I've never heard it.

Heh. It even went down to $35 for a while - best deal I've ever seen.

Now it's out of stock and the EH 350 goes for $80

Radioshack carries the Sennheiser HD 497's ,as well as its competition, the Koss UR40. Go there and compare them both. :RS80 Smiley:

Had the px100 and sent them back when i realized my 13 dollar Koss ksc75 sounded better and were more comfortable. The Koss are a bit ugly. You would think Koss would Redesign these great phones to make them a bit more trendy to boost sales. They are the best sounding phones in that price range hands down.

I got a pair. They are indeed very good. I think you can still get it for about $40.

The other really good cheap phones is SHP895. If you have friends going to Asia, you can get a pair real cheap. I got mine for about $32.
