Best Headphones For Computer Use?

The AV-710's front output can drive headphones, but it's good output isn't designed to. High-impeadence headphones work okay, but lower impedence ones (like Grados) will sound thin and lifeless on it.

Nooo! Well, it's not too late to cancel my order.
What sound card do you guys recommend for primary headphone usage with the Grado SR-60?

Check out the M-Audio Revolution 5.1. It has a headphone jack and it's better sounding than the AV-710 or the Revo 7.1.

If you've got the cash, go for an E-MU 0404 ($100).

Also, I was just thinking about your concerns regarding comfort in your headphone. Grados are NOT comfortable, especially with the stock pads. Mods can make them a little more bearable, but the Senns have them beat in this area. Consider the HD497 perhaps.

just stick with the av-710 and read up on some simple mods that can make the chaintech sound just as good as the m-audio. the only reason i look forward to getting my own av-710 is because of the $25 price tag and the modding which i can build off of from there.

UGH. Now I'm getting differing opinions. Too bad I've already purchased the headphones and soundcard. The headphones, I'll at least try out before making a decision. But the soundcard, I'll probably end up reselling. Hopefully, I won't lose too much. I don't like modding my stuff...

I guess this is what I get for listening to others, and not doing some research.

Oh well.

So anyways, what budget sound card would you guys recommend? [With a dedicated headphone jack]

Thanks.

Alright. Both items have shipped. I don't want to go through the hassle of returning the sound card. So, here's a new perspective for me: Will the Chaintech be better than my Integrated Stock Sound Card for the SR60? I'm not positive as to what sound card I currently have, but going through the Device Manager, I think it's the: ESS Allegro PCI Audio.

So, for the SR60, will the Chaintech beat that out?
Thanks.
