I listen to music alot on my computer. Which headphones should I get for that? Open and closed doesn't matter. Sound quality, comfort, and price are of paramount importance. Looks do not matter.

How are the Grado SR60's for computer use?
Or the Sennheiser HD 497?

I'm looking to spend ~ $60. But less is better.

Furthermore, does the sound card affect sound quality when using earphones? Currently, I'm using the stock integrated sound card.

Thanks.

I'm sure the SR60s would be great for you.

Yes, the sound card does matter A LOT. Do yourself a favor and pick up a Chaintech AV-710 for $25 over at newegg. It's a big step up from integrated sound.

Here's a linkie: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...120-103&depa=0

If 3D sound for games is a concern, then it is better than the Creative Audigy crapola and most onboard for music while maintaining some nice gaming performance.

For 2D sound/music however the Chaintech or the M-Audio Revo will serve you better.

i like the 60's over the 497's for extended listening because the headband is adjustable, so you can set it for your comfort, but my friend o2sk8 did a cool mod (which is free) to his 497's which makes them just as comfy.

I don't think I'd ever buy 7.1 Speakers. Will that 7.1 Chaintech support 5.1 Speakers for the future?

Thanks.

Generally speaking X.1 hardware supports up to and including X. 2.1, 5.1, 7.1 should all work dandy (if it were home theater equipment then 3.1 as well, but that's an unlikely computer setup

SR60s and the Chaintech.

Regarding that sound card, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better deal in the world of audio.

Thanks!

I've decided on the SR60 + Chaintech combo.
The Chaintech Card has already been ordered from Newegg. And the headphones shall be ordered sometime this week when I have the money.

Haha. I just purchased the SR60. Found them brand new on ebay for $55, and I just had to buy it. Now to wait! Thanks again for the help!

Oh btw, one last question. Where would I plug the headphones in? I don't see a headphone jack on the Chaintech sound card. Yes, I'm new at this...

Thanks.
