Graphene by definition is a single layer of carbon atoms, a few layers of graphene is no longer graphene (just pointing that out).
From the diagram, it could go either way ortho or electrostatic

I get your point, but nobody calls a brick wall 'a repetitive, arranged, cemented stack of baked clay cuboids'. 
 
A diaphragm made of graphine will just be called a 'graphene diaphragm' by the general public.
Science probably doesn't even yet have a name for what they've created.

still saw the title... doubted it, read the article... wow that's awesome :D
