I listened to an iBasso D10 amp today with foobar from my laptop.
While switching to the usb sound on the foobar menu i noticed that you can also change the output from 16 to 24 or 32 bits. I had to save the changes and then exit and restart foobar, and the differences surprised me.
The built in hd soundmax sounded best with 32 bit.
The iBasso sounded best at 24 bits.
There's also a dithering checkbox - it made 16 bit sound a bit more refined.
Has anyone else played with this?
