I can only compare the last two, since I own both. The GS-X Mk II is more transparent and more neutral, with blacker backgrounds. The Taurus is not far behind, but the GS-X Mk II is worth the extra.
I have both the Headamp GS-X MkII and the Questyle CMA800R. I feel that the GS-X MkII is by far the better amp for the HD800, although the Questyle is still very good -- good enough that I decided to keep it for another system. One caveat is that the GS-X is a fully balanced amp (and I do use it in this mode), whereas you have to have 2 Questyle amps if you want to go balanced. For this reason I couldn't say whether a dual-mono Questyle set up would in fact approach or even equal the GS-X or not. However I still think the GS-X MkII is so good that it's probably unlikely that this would be the case. I have no comment on the Taurus since I've never heard it.
Zana Deux Super or other Eddie Current offerings are what I'd recommend. Just spent 3 days at AXPONA with headamps, cavallis, woos, and none of them were compelling, especially at some of the elevated price points.
Gotta say the V281, while impressive & great amp with other headphones, it did no favors for the HD800.
Compared to a good tube amp, the V281 was left behind in the dust.
