So I have some new IEMs coming in and started to convert all my music to flac. I have an Iphone and Zune 80 but just realized that neither support FLAC.

If i'm gonna be using high end IEMs i want the best source possible so i definitely want FLAC .

What would you guys recommend as the best players with FLAC support? Preferably something with at least 32 gigs.

So far I have looked into the Cowon S9 and Samsung P3.

He means that if all your music is in mp3 now, you cant just convert it to FLAC. That doesn't work. That's called a transcode. It will have a bigger file size but the same quality as the MP3. The rules of transcodes are source (CD) to lossless (FLAC) is ok. Then any lossless to another type of lossless is ok. For example FLAC to ALAC is fine and you will have the exact same sound quality, but and inferior codec

You can't convert any kind of lossy files (MP3) to lossless or lower bitrate lossy to a higher bitrate lossy. For example V0 to 320 CBR.

Well, there aren't any rules preventing you from transcoding MP3 to FLAC that I'm aware of, however virtually nothing is gained as the data that was thrown out by the MP3 encoder is lost forever. Semantics maybe, but it is strictly possible just not advisable.

RockBox an iPod before the 6th gen classic. They all support FLAC, and the SQ options are fantastic.
