I'm looking for closed headphone around $100-200 USD that look good, sound good for metal and rock such as the big 4, testament, iron maiden, judas priest, led zeppelin, black sabbath, ac dc, overkill, journey, beatles, rolling stones, etc, etc. These will mostly be used with my ipod touch 4th gen along bus rides and general listening while at home (plug them into my pc at home). i don't have an amp for either of these devices although i might get one or two in the future. i will be walking around with these so i don't want them to look goofy, i want them to be closed, and they should be durable and semi portable, i have a large backpack so portability isn't a huge issue. Headphones I'm looking include the KRK KNS8400, and the ULTRASONE HFI 780. Which would be the best headphone for my music listening preferences?

I'd go HFI780 if you want it to have good attack and be fun. KRK if you want it flat and dry. AKG K167 as another curve ball.

Might want to take the AKG K550's into the pit. Very clear sounding cans. Closed back with big soundstage, perfect for universal home/on the go use.

They have nice isolation but they do look a bit big

Bit large, plus they have exposed cables which might not be best if im carrying them around.
