I've been looking for a set of new cans that will be able to be properly amped my ht receiver (Marantz 5001)
im also looking for something that is really comfy to wear
I'm more of a treble head and a non bloated bass head
large Sound Stage is a must
Need to be Under $300
I mostly listen to Alot of different kinds of music r&b to Metal.

I've been looking at these

Akg 601 (Liquid midrange, Musical and little brother of 701, Easy to drive)

Beyerdynamic DT 990 (Extreme balance between treble mid range and bass and really good deep low end)

Is there anything i could be missing?

Grado's are very treble/midrange oriented and can be quite bright (not to me of course, but others). Though if you like a large soundstage, the Grado's are not for you.

For comfort it depends. They don't bother me in the least, but other's say they are down right painful. It all comes down to head shape, clamping pressure, and ear sensitivity.

the hd650 has incredible synergy with my marantz cd5001 cd player. not so much with the grado's and akg, it's too harsh/bright. i figure the amp section would probably be the same in your receiver. but since you are more of a treble head, i would suggest the hd600 instead.

A K601 would probably fit your bill better then. They are easy to drive and have a very expansive soundstage. They are also more forward in the treble area, but not bright.

I'm going to partially second that, in that my CD5001 headphone out sounds best with my HD600. I definitely prefer the HD600 to my other phones when using the phones right out of the headphone jack.
