Hey guys, I got my denons rewired, and they are awesome, thanks for the tips.
One of my friends wants a pair of over ears and he can only spend 50 bucks or so on them, got any recommendations? All input is welcome, thanks in advance.
and while I'm here asking questions, why can't I post in the for sale section?

To answer the second question: You need to post more. 50 posts and, someone correct me if I'm wrong, one month of membership.

portapro, PX100, iGrados, and Sony V6 - can't go wrong with those. Although I do find V6s rather boring and lifeless

try this out anything on there is a atleast a decent buy:

i would recommend the sr60s if he is willing to pay like $10 more, and if he wants open cans. although they do look a bit retro, the sound cannot is superb and cannot be matched at that price point.

D1001's are also pretty cheap now if you're willing to look around for them. A clone of them is the Creative Aurvana Live! which you can get for $60 off Amazon. Although, some people do claim they have a bit different sound signature than D1001's

I'd recommend him putting in the extra 10 or so dollars for some SR60's, they're well worth it. But if that's out of the question, then I'd recommend the px100's. I told my sis to buy a pair after hearing the rave reviews of it on this board, she loved 'em and when I gave them a listen I was genuinely surprised.

I'm with the other guys. I bought the SR60's as a cheap, good pair of mobile cans that I could stand to rough up a bit, but whenever I let my friends have a listen, their blown away, even before I tell them I only paid $65 for them at Headroom. Talk to you friend and convince him that it's worth it. He'll thank you later.

just out of curiosity, what'd you end up recabling your d1001 with? and what'd you think of the process?
