Koss KSC-75 Below $100

After that, it gets all subjective.

Wow. They're that good? For closed cans, I'd say the DT770/80 ($180), though I supposed the RP-21 is better for its price ($100).

It could even be argued that the KSC-75 is the below-$50 best-bang.

And yeah, after that, there is much argument. Equation RP-15mc for $50ish, for example. There's a lot of bang to be had between $10 and $300.

I think my Denon AH-D550 are fantastic for being somewhat portable, closed cans at around $60....but then they might be discontinued now. They have a bit of a Grado sound to them.

I heard the RP15c are bloody amazing at $50 and the RP21 at $100.

Alot of people would say for an open can that Grado SR60 or Alessandro MS1 are great value too.

Absolutely, the KSC 75 under $50, and I think the SR60 make a case for 50-75. For under $175, my vote is the Etymotic ER4s. Lots of folks wouldn't trade their ety's for anything under $500, which is the very definition of "bang-for-the-buck".

under $50 open = ksc75
under $50 closed = jvc marshmallow

under $100 open = grado sr-60?
under $100 closed = akg k81dj (if you can overcome comfort issues!)

anything over $100 is not considered bang for the buck (IMO)

It does require an amp to make it sound decent, but it really does deliver on bang for the buck.

So you spend $270 on the headphones but to make it sound decent, you need to spend more cash on an amp. How is that delivering the bang for the buck?

Ah, one more of those get-my counter-up-easy threads.

The Shure headcount thread is worse than this one. It's useless and have more pages to it!
