I like to tell people that I'm listening to Echo & the Bunnymen, Joy Division, Captain Beefheart & the Magic Band, the Flaming Lips or Belle & Sebastian.

Personally, I'm not fond of the long punkish names like "You will know us by the trail of the dead", they seem too affected. Granted, all the band names I named are affected but not as much, perhaps?

Now, if this went to album names--things would get tricky.

The Tragically Hip have the greatest name. And while not their finest album musically, Trouble at the Hen House is probably my favourite album name.

I always liked The Meat Puppets as a band name as well.
