eshays, so its not worth buying a iPod or iPhone?

You can play AIFF, Apple Lossless, and "high quality"/high bit-rate mp3s on an iPod. (FLAC, I don't think so)

In other words, almost the same quality as playing a CD. Use the "line out dock", or LOD, instead of the 3.5mm audio-out, for better quality.

And AAC, the best sounding compressed audio codec.

Guys, i download all my music as 320kbps MP3, but when i go on iTunes and click on "get info" it says is MPEG, What? is that still Mp3? I'm confused as FARK. And also, what is sample rate? I have some songs which are like 44,000KHz and some that are 48,000.. whats the difference?

Here are some pictures:

Btw, What is that "Encoded with" Thing? whats it mean? one says LAME3.98 and the other is .97, whats the difference?

And also, where it says "Channels" some say joint stereo, and other just say Stereo? whats the difference? IM MIND ****ED!!!

THANKS

Those are all various settings for MP3s. The MP in MP3 stands for mpeg. 44.1 is CD sample rate. 48 is generally for video audio soundtracks. LAME is an encoding program, kind of like iTunes. Joint stereo is a compression setting. Just google these terms like this....

Definition: joint stereo

Just download files and play them. If they sound good, great.

If you want to use iTunes, it's a no-brainer get an iPhone. If you aren't tied to iTunes, as Bigshot said just get the cheapest one. And Bluetooth will never sound as good as a hard-wired headphone connection, all other things being equal.
