Even with that x7's battery life is horrible. Sony's is amazing. I really don't know what is going on here? similar battery capacity, Sony 30h+ x7 10h- play time. What does the energy all go?

Sony zx2 only has and power out put of 15mw at 16ohm, almost 15% of the power of the x7 with the lowest power amp.

So, what is top SQ of these DAPs that can play Tidal.  Some AK's can be added to list and when released Onkyo DP-X1a and iBasso DX200.  I am looking for the TOTL SQ dap that can play Tidal.  Anyone care to list by top SQ?

Most of them can't.
I am sure that Cayin i5 can be used as DAC.
Most likely Opus #2 as well.

I have Cayin i5 and Samsung S6 next to me but the standard OTG cable does not fit so I cannot try. Cayin i5 has USB-C in.

I recently got an AK70 this gives access to Tidal and can be used as a DAC. Using with a Mac the simplest transfer of files is with the Android File Transfer programme.

that's pretty cool - so you are getting a 16/44 stream from tidal, using the rest of the DAC and signal chain in the AK? 
 
you know they can push 24bit to you as soon as they want to.
the shouts of snake oil continue to suppress the market.
 
24bit PCM stereo @ 48k, 88k or 96k sample rate all stream using less bandwidth than Netflix HD.
 
Only 24/192 is still size-prohibitive for streaming in america 2017.
