I know that this topic should have been covered a few times, but i'm running out of ideas.

Bravos and Indeeds won't do it, because it also has to be a decent looking one (ok, let's just say it has to have a case, it will be a gift). I dont want the fiio E9 because of the hole on it's top, Little dots don't fit the budget, and i would preferably have a desktop one without a DAC, since i don't want to pay for small footprint and portability, because i don't need these features.

Any solution would be appreciated.

Thank you!

- A desktop amplifier alone under $100 is almost impossible to find.
- A decent looking one is even harder to find even at $200.

The E9 is the bottom rock - cheapest desktop amp there is. Not to mention that the HD650 need a lot more than the E9 to sound its best.

If having a DAC with the amp, musiland monitor 02 is pretty fun sounding with HD650. Fiio E10 is pretty good all round.

But if you want to have an analog line in for something like a portable source, Fiio E9 would probably be one of the best desktop amps at that price range.

For $100 I would get a bottle of decent scotch and plug them into your soundcard.

Op, increase your budget..get something at least on the $200 range (build a crack bottlehead)

Why get a underpowered amp for such good cans?  Like fabio says get an Crack, i did and love the combo.  If u want to hear sound get a cheap amp but if u want music coming out get an Crack.  Dont go cheap on the tubes also get some 5998 and 12bh7.  Oh boy this hobby getting expensive by each post.

Wait for the the new Meier Audio Corda ROCK amp to be release in may hopefully. It should fit your budget and should sound awesome!
Or stretch your budget and buy La figaro 332C!

The Fiio E9 is an excellent pair with the HD650. Not sure why someone would imply that the HD650 "needs more". Unless you plan to seriously step up to amps past the $400-500 range , you probably won't notice an incredible leap in sound imaging.

I haven't had any experience with the HD 650 or the amp, (So, take my opinion with a grain of salt) but I've heard that the O2 is supposed to be a very good amp for the HD 650.
