I have started thinning out my possible headphone choices. I am thinking about Ultrasone 2500's or 750's, Grado 225's, Senn HD600 or 650.

I listen to lots of reggae and dancehall so clean bass and mids with nice highs is wanted.

My current price limit is $200 for an amp. Are there any decent tube amps in this price range?

I am currently using BOSE Aviation X headset hooked thru this http://www.fspilotshop.com/product_i...roducts_id=273 into my headphone out on my Logitech Z-560 speakers.

Any advice would be great.

Also with the ultrasone's only being 30ohms will they benefit from an amp?

Is there a good all around amp for the cans I have picked out, or should I wait until I decide on headphones before I decide on an amp?

Well, lets see if I can make a short list of some of your options.

We've got the Total Bithead and Total Airhead:

There is the Porta Corda MkIII (with or without USB):

The headphonia amps:

The EMU 0404:

Cmoys:

Emmeline Hornet Amp:
(I can't find a neat link...)

Well...

There are a few. None of them tube as you might have noticed. There might be tube amps in this price range but I'm sure there are not a lot of them.

I think you should indeed wait untill you have decided what cans you want and then pick the right amp.

If you have the opportunity to try all the different types I would advice you to do so before actually buying one that you might not like.

Most headphones do benefit from an additonal amp depending on what the source of your music is. (computer, LP, CD player, ipod)

To amend the above post, your tube options are:

Millet hybrid (usually $150-220 depending on components, solid state output but tube voltage gain, look for on FS forums)
Eddie Current Lunchbox ($170 new shipped to US)
eBay tube amp (wide variety, some are supposedly pretty good but buyer beware)

The lunchbox is not a great match for the Grados. Millet's tend to be warm. IMO a diamond buffer in a millet makes a big difference.

The Hornet is not in your price range. =[

For tubes, Little Dot II++ is around the $200 mark.

Lunchbox isn't recommended for low impedance headphones.
