I'm giving this thread one last bump, now that the decade of 00 actually has ended.

I know the title says 'best', and I somehow regret using it in this context. 'Favourite', as several posters have used, suits my original intention of this thread better; what are the most preferred albums of the 00's on Head-Fi?
This I thought would produce an extensive list of truly magnificent contemporary music, a bucketfull of only the sweetest cherries of the crop, and in the same time showing off the rough demographics of musical preferences here in our community. And a success I believe it has been.

So one last go at this, post your two favourite albums of the past decade, and have a go at some of the excellent suggestions already offered.
Still only one admission per user, how ever, any roughly on-topic ponderings are naturally welcome whether you have done your submission or not.

Original Post:

There's been a lot of negativity around concerning Pitchfork's latest decade list. They're narrow-minded, music-hating hipsters, some would say. So instead of going on complaining, why don't we make our own list?

A Head-Fi best-of-the-decade album list I hereby initiate.
The rules are simple. You may pick 2 albums, one winner and one runner-up.

Winner: 2pt
Runner-Up: 1pt

I'll keep a running list summing up the scores.

Each person may submit their choices only once, and may not edit what they already have submitted. Qualifications for albums are so: Must be first released somewhere between 1. Jan 00 and Now. Compilations, re-mixes and live-albums are all qualified. For re-mixes the mix must have been made between 1. Jan 00 and now, while original source material can be older.

Choosing your albums might be hard, I spent quite some time going back and forth on mine. What I did realise when thinking this over is that 10 years is a lot in music. There have quite simply been made tons of great, excellent and brilliant albums this decade, as any decade before it.

Now post your favourites here and don't be shy. There is no hipster pressure here, and nobody will accuse you for being a hipster. Right?

I'll start with my two:

Winner: Múm – Yesterday Was Dramatic—Today Is OK

Runner-Up: Anthony and the Johnsons – I Am a Bird Now

Like to participate. It wasnt that hard actually. Going over the albums once they immediately stood out and filled me with warmth

Winner: Do Make Say Think - & Yet & Yet [2002]

Runner-up: Yagya - Will I Dream During The Process? [2006]

Edit: I found out that my winner album is just a good album and nothing spectacular. The feeling of warmth doesnt equal a great album.

I really don't think I could pick a definitive top two, as there are several albums that I like just as much, but for the sake of the poll, I'll pick two that are fairly popular.

Winner: Tool - Lateralus [2001]
Runner-up: Opeth - Blackwater Park [2001]

I could just as easily substitute any of the following albums for those, though.
dredg - el cielo
Thrice - Vheissu
Neurosis - The Eye of Every Storm
Burst - Lazarus Bird

second runners up: Parkway Drive - Horizons, The Black Dahlia Murder - Nocturnal, Brand New - Deja Entendu, Chevelle - Vena Sera, Eminem - Marshall Mathers LP, System of a Down - Tocixity, Avenged Sevenfold - Self Titled, Muse - Absolution.

Having just completed a full listen of my entire collection, only 2 2000-era albums made my best of list, with 3 more almost there...so this a pretty easy decision.

#1 - Aimee Mann's Bachelor No. 2
#2 - Chris Cornell's Scream
