Sorry guys to revive an old thread but my circumstances have changed. My budget has inflated now($1200-$1500) and with which Ive got more options. I was wondering what do you guys think of the following (purely for desktop music playback):
1. Importing the new Adam A5X (would cost about AU$1000 after delivery; cant go for 7X as its retail price is $1200 which will attract extra levies). Add a sub later.
2.Grab Focal CMS 50 (for Au$1150) locally in Sydney and then add a sub later.
3. Elac 203.2 are on a special for $999 at my local but my only worry is that will they work in a desktop setting with my Xonar Essence soundcard (as they are predominantly a 'bookshelf' speaker). This option will leave me with few $'s to add a cheap sub instantly.
