I tested 4 earbuds that are inside the 10 dollars price range, Panasonic RP-HV152, Sony MDR-E10LP, Sony MDR-E818LP, Philips SHE2640. Sony MDR-E818LP is by far the best out of all 4. I think it is well worth the price and the sound quality can rival low end in ears. Is it the best 10 dollar earbuds around?

I have the Sony MDR E-828. It seems like it might be a bit better than the E818, but probably not that much different. The E828 has plenty of bass, but also has audible distortion. If you are willing to try an IEM, I think the JVC Riptidz($8) sounds much better than the E828.

same thing with e818, plenty of bass, i didnt hear distortion tho, clarity is pretty good tho beaten by my etymotic research hf 5 when i a/b them (of course, big price gap), ill see about the jvc and the monoprice. and for iems, i also heard some very good things about meelectronics, their iems look pretty nice for the price, i dont own any product from them so i wont comment on the sound.

The MX400 is ancient. It is very bass deficient. I haven't heard the MX270, however I have a feeling it is probably much better than the MX400. The MX270 is a bit over $10 though.

The MP8320 sound nothing like a sub $10 earphone. Nothing close. Throw them on a small amp and I guarantee you. They will leave you slack jawed.
Try out a Philips SHE3580 as well. Both are excellent cheapos. The bass end on the SHE3580 is some of the best quality you will ever hear on anything.
