Can anyone help with a tube change on my Bellari HA540. I want to smooth out the top in a touch. It's a little harsh in my opinion. Wanted to know what tube would give it a little smoother sound but keep it very detailed and not loose a lot of the gain that the stock tube has. Don't want to really spend over 50 or 60 bucks.
Thanks

Thank you. Could you point me to a place where I can get one of these...
I also read that an OLD RCA type would help a lot to for around 60 bucks.

I have the Bellari HA 540 and the stock Ruby tube is not very good at all. My
favorite tube is a black plate Raytheon 12ax7 and the second is a GE long plate 1962 JAN 12ax7 that I got at upscale audio.  A good NOS tube will make a world of difference from the stock ruby  if you don't want to go NOS the reissue Tungsol 12ax7/ECC803S is a very nice sounding tube for 30.00 or so
