Bay Area Meet-up and the "renlute thread"...JUST found it.

Don't know why I never saw it- but, the following people are absolutely invited to this thread (which took over renlute's poor thread):

Sp0rkG0d
Iron_Dreamer
Glitch39
Stein
anomaly7
mikeymad
aamefford
gooky
fallingreason
particleman14
darckhart
WC Annihilus
tengen

Can you guys make it February 12th?  You're welcome to come.  If not...start thinking about the next one!

jp1108 had some good pointers in there.  Thanks!

I will contact Burlingame DoubleTree's catering manager tomorrow (they are not available on the weekend).

I will try to book 1,000 sq. ft. and it supposedly is about $800.

Then we'll have a raffle or I'll request $20 from each attendee.  Okey dokey??

Sorry...a little optimistic on "possible attendee #5."

jp11801 is in PENNSYLVANIA.

Hey John, do you have to visit anyone here in California, say around February 12th?

You could just attend and enjoy!

If you're a newbie who has not been to a head-fi meet, or to a local one in the Bay Area, here's the Impressions thread about the meet held at the airport last February.

NOT-SO-GOOD:
Have to change the date to February 19th, 2011.  9am-5pm

GOOD:  Going to have 1300 sq.ft instead of 1000.

I should have the contract today and be finalizing this so everyone can plan.

As soon as I send the contract in I will start a fresh thread with the details...

It's still Saturday and early enough I can still make it.

Great, Mike!   I just sent the contract in.

We'll have 1300 sq. ft. and I will work on a new thread tonight...plus notify everyone on the potential attendee list.

CEE TEE
thanks for organizing. I have marked Feb 19 on my agenda. My gear is getting old and less interesting for others to listen to, but I can bring along anything in my sig that folks would like to listen to...

For some of us, everything will be new. I am interested in your amps/DAC set ups.

Great work, CEE TEE, good to hear that the event is rolling.

Calaf -- please don't leave your K340 at home if it's the full size classic (as opposed to the newer earphones). Even the more common K701 is welcome. Rroseperry is right, many of us got bitten relatively recently by the headphone virus and have hardly begun to listen to the tempting variety of cans. Not to mention amps and DACs.

I had no idea AKG hijacked the glorious K340 name for some el-cheapo earphones...  the horror!
But, yes, these are the old K340, tweaked and recabled. I'll bring them to the meet with the rest of my stuff then.
