Anyone know the difference between the DVD version and the Stereo version? The site has both listed, the DVD version going for $99 and the Stereo version going for $249.

The Ultrasone site does not list different models as of the last time I looked. hfi700 existed as a non-DVD version before also I believe.

Wow looks like a good buy, can someone give any comparisons between these and maybe AT a700s or RP-21s? I may order however I also do not have an amp so would they sound fairly decent for gaming, better then my SteelSeries 5hv2? (I listen to Metal and more bass heavy music)

My friend owns HFI700DVD and ath-AD700. He said HFI700DVD is vastly superior in terms of detail and bass.

The HFI-700 used to be known as the HFI-650DVD. It shares the same drivers as the HFI-650, but is tweaked by Ultrasone to have a fuller bass response for movie watching and gaming.

It will shortly be replaced by the HFI-780. See the big Ultrasone thread for more particulars.

For $99.99, it is indeed quite a nice bargain!

It seems like these are geared towards gaming and movies- is it worth it for just straight music?

For those with a taste for some bass, yes.

Can someone tell me which is better for classical, the HFI 700DVD or the HD595? I want to get a headphone for my violinist cousin, and the 99$ cost is pretty attractive.

Thanks!

I'd go for 700 in this case.
