Those who own the B&O A8 will know that the mid and bass quality of A8 relies heavily on the fit, but getting a good fit is often quite difficult. Here is a very simple modification you can perform on A8 that will increase he bottom end of the frequency response yet will not taint the treble. The most significant effect of this mod is, it makes perfect fit less important for getting a good sound.
Note: All you need for the mod is a bit of Scotch Tapes, but you'll have to use foam pad with your A8 after the mod.
Take the foam pads off your A8. You will find two venting ducts under the transducer housing.
Cut a small piece of Scotch Tape and glue it over the venting ducts, leaving only about 1/4 of the ducts open (glued area shows in red).
Put the foam pad back and enjoy!
[UPDATE] If any of you find that the A8's sound reversed back to the original after a while, you might want to change the tape. If you are in a hurry, just pull out and glue back the old tape should suffice. The reason is unclear to me, but I'll guess it is because the tape becomes loosen over time and somehow cause the sealing effect to reduce and result in SQ reversal.
