After 10pm I’d call the cops, but 9:30 pm I’d grin and bare it. Just like those idiots down the street with the huge subwoofers in their cars. After 10 I’ll call the cops on them before 10 I turn up my stereo or put in IEM or something.

On a different thought your post made me think that maybe you live next to Rufus Harley, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rufus_Harley The worlds only Jazz Bag Piper. I am saddened to report that he passed away this July. The world is a lesser place.

Rufus' music is quite different and IMO radical. I like it a lot but can see others thinking of it as an aquired taste. It is sad he never received the wide recognition he deserves.

LOL, are you one of those who feels free to be as loud as you want when you want, anyone else that can hear you be damned? If I need to sleep, and the sound ordinance says I have that right, then bagpipe-man has to go. The rules are on my side, not his.

I can just see the cops knocking down the door and finding a drunk, homesick Scot, kilt askew, piping till he's red in the face.

first, no I am never really loud.... neither in my home nor late at night in public but I would not just calll the cops if my neihbours annoyed me. In fact I have never even felt so annoyed that I would dwalk over to them and talk to them, which should be the first thing to do, no intsant cop-calling. Thats overreacting imho.

Ok, then we'll send bagpipe man outside your window to practice at midnight on a weekday and see how you feel about it.

I live downstairs from one of these bully-boys, and they do it because they can. No other reason. They keep on going because nice people do nothing.

Straight pipes have nothing on open headers

I "had" problems with a loud neighbor, I invited my friend over with his 1978 trans-am (400 small block, 750CFM 4 Barrel, hooker headers) backed his exhaust off the headers and OMG you could probably here the car for blocks, did a few slow passes then a burn out up the street.

Neighbor never turned his radio up again

This has to win Thread Title of the Year.

On another note, bagpipes rule and I really want to learn. Does anyone know of a good resource to get cheap pipes?
