With all the revisions and "recalls"/Changes recently of the Hifiman 400 - is it a good time to buy or should we wait for the dust to settle?
 
I'm in South Africa, and its really a big deal to send them back if I encounter any issues.
 
Is the current version (REV3 if memory serves) sorted and stable?
Was really looking forward to ordering a set as a x-mas gift... to myself... but I'm having doubts.

It's all sorted dude, all orders placed now are the R2 versions which is the best one that most people have. You'll probably be one of the only people in Africa with a HiFiman set!

Rev3 is gone completely. It was an attempt to automate the assembly process but we all know it screwed up the sound. So Hifiman recalled all rev3s and are back to making units via rev2 method now.
