Yes, but different DAPs have different voltage levels at maximum and that alone makes the poll completely useless. Also different headphones have different sensitivity and impedance.

Heh, I believe the first one means that the user has very low listening levels, hence the "say it again, I can't hear you" and the last one is in capitals because the user has listened to loud levels ruining his hearing (capitals = shouting the answer

Both good points.

Maybe the question that should have been asked with all your warrants in place would be something like, on a skale of 0-10 (universal) what level do you listen to your music at, 0 being no sound & 10 being the loudest you can get it.

Gets rid of the nast voltage, efficeincy and blah technicalitys that mess up the purpose and sets the "real" purpose in front of the responder.

As such, my answear to the question remains the same, 4, because I read that into the question already. If I was supposed to base it on my DAP then I listen to my 4th Gen. iPod at about 7 of 27 (I think its 27).

I have my SP250 on 25 and my portable amped turned up to about 2/3s of its maximum volume.

Well, that is not very helpful, but most of my friends listen to their players on a much lowwer volume than I do(although maybe that is because they want to minimize the perceptibility of how bad their MDRQ22s are...).

iHP-140 w/ ER4S

volume at 4 (40 being max) - 1/10 ?

Roughly @15 is about 65dB (from questionable digital s/n measuring device), so I guess I'm at sub 50dB...

On the plane, volume at 22 (40 being max) - 1/2 ?

Roughly @15 is about 65dB (from questionable digital s/n measuring device), so I guess I'm at sub 75dB..

I range between 5% and 20% of maximum volume, depending on levels of background noise and equaliser (if bassy, lower overall volume). Each player has different nominal values, and though I like to hear the music well, I don't like not to be able to hear my surroundings. Other thing is I don't like other people getting an earful of what I'm listening to.
