Visually, I found it very entertaining. I saw it in DLP 3D.

I only managed to get to watch it last night and I was totally blown away. Even though I only got to see it 2D, it was still immensely immersive. I found myself in awe of all the natural scenes as opposed to all the hardware, (it's normally the other way around for me.) Everything was just so believable, my brain was being fooled into the film being almost real. Just wish I could have seen it in 3D. And yes, I do think this will change film making for the future, for a start it will now be used as a benchmark as to how other CG films should be.

I'm embarrassed to say I havent seen avatar yet.. school children here are still on holidays - waiting for them to go back to school (next week) so i can watch the thing in peace
